Description
The DEA are having major problems in South America; La Valedora, the new drug mafia has destroyed the DEA headquarters and anyone who got between them and their goal of being the biggest drugs cartel in Colombia has been killed. The DEA decide to send in their best man, Victor %22El Matador%22 Corbet to eliminate the boss of La Valedora in the middle of the biggest drugs war that Colombia has ever seen. So starts El Matador: one massive gun fight through some of the most spectacular levels ever with bullets flying everywhere, slow-mo battles and a gigantic body-count. Welcome to Colombia...
Welcome to 7 chapters, each with many levels, of a Colombian drug war. Yes it's the perfect plot for an action film, and that's what El Matador is a massive action film with the one liners, explosions and body count included.
Because when you're a DEA agent sent to Colombia to kill a drug cartel there's one thing you need. Guns, and lots of them. El Matador has over 20 guns in his arsenal. God knows where he puts them all but with dual wielding included you've definitely got what you need to dispatch the hundreds of normal enemies and the uber powerful bosses.
And let me tell you that dispatching action film amounts of bad guys isn't going to be easy. They're all decent shots, they know how to use cover and they'll throw a good (or rather annoying) grenade. It's a challenge on par with Far Cry in difficulty. And that's not including the bosses, powerhouses at the end of the levels that need a good attack to take them down.
But don't worry because you've got your team to back you up. Through most of the levels you'll have a team of the Colombian anti drug police (el policia, cabron) by your side who'll increase that body-count substantially.
El Matador features a Max Payne-style bullet time to let you dispatch your enemies easily. With a brilliant blur look and the bullets flying you'll be pleased to have this feature when it comes to assaulting a room full of enemies.
But if you put the slow-mo on then you'll miss out on some spectacular levels with great looking outdoor sequences. Especially memorable is the dock assault and the jungle drug-lab. All the levels a full of great textures and some destructible cover (if you've got a minigun or rocket launcher that is).
Though there is one thing that we'd like to advise you for El Matador: save lots and save often, your health and armor will go down like anything when you're trapped in the crossfire.
